This article explores the complexities of the Calvin Cycle, its role in photosynthesis, and its importance for life on our planet.<\/p>\n<p>The Process of Photosynthesis<\/p>\n<p>Photosynthesis is split into two main stages: the light-dependent reactions and the Calvin Cycle. Light-dependent reactions take place in the thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts, where chlorophyll and other pigments absorb light energy. This energy splits water molecules into oxygen, protons, and electrons.
